A full inspection of
the braking system

Brakes are your BMW's most critical safety system. We don't just swap pads — we check the entire braking system: discs and pads, calipers, flexible hoses, brake fluid and the ABS/DSC electronics.

For BMWs with an electronic parking brake (EPB) — E70 X5, F10, F30 and newer — OEM equipment is required to enter service mode when replacing the rear pads. Without it, the job can't be done correctly.

  • Discs: thickness measurement, runout check, surface condition
  • Pads: thickness, even wear, wear-sensor condition
  • Calipers: sticking, leaks, piston & seal condition
  • Flexible hoses: cracks, bulges, age (replace every 4-6 years)
  • Brake fluid: boiling-point test — change every 2 years
  • ABS / DSC / CBC: ISTA/D scan for faults and wheel-speed sensors
  • EPB service mode: for electronic handbrakes — rear pads F/G-series
  • Wear sensor reset: with OEM equipment after every replacement
🔔
Brake warning light is on
The wear sensor has reached its limit — the pads need replacing now.
🔊
Squealing or grinding when braking
The wear indicator is contacting the disc — the last warning before the disc is ruined.
📳
Vibration through the wheel when braking
Warped discs — common on hard-driven BMWs. Requires disc replacement.
↗️
The car pulls left or right
A sticking caliper or uneven pad wear — dangerous, needs an immediate check.
🦶
Soft or spongy brake pedal
Air in the system or a failing cylinder. Needs immediate bleeding or repair.

OEM &
premium brands only

On BMW brakes we don't cut corners on quality. We use only genuine BMW or OEM first-line parts — the same that dealers use and that BMW AG supplies to the factory.

No-name aftermarket pads can have uneven wear, noise, reduced stopping power or ruin the discs prematurely. Especially dangerous on BMW M Performance, where the braking system's demands are very high.

When should I change the brakes on my BMW?+
BMW pads typically last 30,000-60,000 km depending on driving style. BMW has a wear sensor that triggers a dashboard warning — but don't wait for it. A visual check at each service is enough to plan ahead.
Do I need to change the discs with the pads?+
Not always. If the discs are within thickness limits and not warped, you can change pads only. If they're deeply grooved or too thin, replacing both together gives a better result and longer life.
Is a special tool needed for BMW rear brakes?+
Yes, if you have an electronic parking brake (EPB) — F30, F10, X5 E70/F15 and newer. The system must be put into service mode with an OEM tool (ISTA/D) to retract the piston. Done without the tool, the EPB motor can be damaged.
Why change brake fluid every 2 years?+
Brake fluid (DOT 4) absorbs moisture over time, lowering its boiling point. Under hard braking it can boil and cause sudden loss of pedal — 'vapor lock'. We change it every 2 years regardless of mileage.
How much does a BMW brake replacement cost?+
It depends on the model, the axle (front/rear) and whether you change pads only or pads and discs. We give a detailed quote before we start — call us for an estimate.

BMW brake replacement
in Thessaloniki

A BMW brake job is more than swapping pads. At our workshop in Ampelokipoi, Thessaloniki we check the whole braking system: discs, pads, calipers, hoses, wear sensors and the brake fluid.

BMW DOT4 brake fluid needs changing every 2 years regardless of mileage — it absorbs moisture and loses performance. Ignored, it leads to a spongy pedal and reduced braking. It pairs perfectly with a scheduled BMW service.

After replacement we reset the wear sensor and, where needed, run a diagnostic check of the ABS & DSC systems with OEM ISTA equipment, so no warning is left on the dash.

What the job includes

  • Replacement of discs & pads front/rear with OEM parts
  • Inspection & cleaning of calipers, slide-pin lubrication
  • Change of brake fluid DOT4 & bleeding
  • Wear-sensor reset & clearing of warnings

Safety first —
check your brakes
